Woodblock 7" x 7"

Robin Wilson (2011)
Limited Edition of 25
The picture above shows one of the first blocks we've printed for the OneOak Project, with which we're involved. The image is printed from a block of wood from the oak felled at the Blenheim Palace Estate in January 2010. Nigel Fisher the Conservator of the Woods at Wytham for the University of Oxford will be talking about Great Tits and research into garden birds on our regular monthly slot with Wesley Smith on Radio Oxford on Sunday Afternoons. The image above and others that Rosie and I have just finished will be appearing at the OneOak Exhibition at Oxford University Museum of Natural History from 12th September until 7th January. Details of this and our other exhibitions with OneOak can be found at the OneOak Website.
We are just about to set off for Romania, to help organise the annual sponsored walk in aid of the family-run Romanian Foyer Trust charity, which does what it can to help reduce homelessness and to provide accommodation, security and support for 18 people in the town of Satu Mare in NW Romania.
As usual, we will have more printmaking and bookbinding courses when we return from Romania (Land Rover permitting) in September. At that point, I will start to add pictures from our recent courses, latest exhibitions and new projects. It goes without saying that the trip out to Romania (via France, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and back through Montenegro, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Italy) is also an excuse for a Grand Tour-esque sketching trip.
