Printmaking in the Strawbale Gallery |
In 2011 we have continued to run our usual Printmaking and Bookbinding Courses throughout the year at our Strawbale Gallery in Duns Tew. Sadly we have come to the end of the teaching year and will resume our courses in 2012, for which we are already taking bookings. The printmaking course runs for two days, during which time the complete beginner is taken through the basics of making monochrome images from a simple pencil ketch using linoblock technique and simple tools into the more detailed and fascinating art of reduction printing. The students on the course always go away at the end of the weekend with a small collection of their own limited edition prints and more importantly take away with them a sound knowledge of all the essential techniques needed to make wonderful prints at home using easily available and cheaply acquired tools.
With the second colour, an image begins to take shape. |
If you are interested in coming along to our printmaking or bookbinding courses in Oxfordshire in 2012, please email Robin or Rosie for more information and dates on which the courses will be running. The price is usually £180 for two days, with lunch, refreshments and all tools and materials provided. From experience, we find that three students on any one course is the optimum class size, so if you choose to come along you will find you have all the attention you need in order to learn the skills necessary for printmaking. If you are more experienced and would like to attend our more advanced courses, then please contact us to discuss your requirements.
