One of the few advantages of turning 40 is the excuse for a range of dinners, parties and events, which would otherwise be hard to justify. At one of these, I was lucky enough to presented with a piece by one of my favourite eccentric artists, the glass sculptress, Goshka Bialek. I am not the first of the company to receive one of these artefacts, but I intend to display it more prominently. Goshka's online gallery gives a good idea of her work, and anyone interested in the Durham area can no doubt arrange to see her studios at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland. It will broaden your mind.
